What types of Triggers are there?
Add New Column(s)
Automatically add new columns to the table if they appear in the file (renamed columns will be treated as new).
Automatically Adjust Datatypes and Lengths if needed. This option forces the tool to read the full file to determine datatypes/lengths without padding.
This is a combination of Add New Column(s) and Adjust Column(s).
Do not use a transaction for insert. Can speed up large imports.
Set a default value for a field if it is blank.
Used to specify the character encoding of the file. Assumed to be UTF8 by default.
Supported Encoding Types:
Force empty values to be NULLs in the Database, default is an empty string.
Force fields to text fields.
Format Column as Date
Force selected column to be formatted as a date.
Include Empty Record(s)
Include empty records in import. By default, if there are empty in all fields, they are ignored.
Insert Only New Records Based On
Insert new records based off of the selected column(s).
Minimum Text Field Length
Force all text fields to the designated length.
Merge New Records Based On
Merge new records based off of the selected column(s).
No Padding (Number)
Do not add padding to newly created number fields. Force read of full file to determine datatypes/lengths without padding. Padding added is 2 digits to the left of the Decimal. If it has digits to the right and it's not a Currency pad 1 digit to the right. If it is a Currency but has more than 2 digits to the right pad 1 digit to the right. Otherwise no padding to the right
No Padding (Text)
Do not add padding to newly created text fields. Force read of full file to determine datatypes/lengths without padding. Padding added by default is the Length + 25% rounded up to a full character.
No Padding (All)
A combination of No Padding (Number) and No Padding (Text)
Pre Data Process
Run indicated Data Process before File import starts. (Only one allowed)
Post Data Process
Run indicated Data Process after File import starts. (Only one allowed)
Run Custom Field(s)
Force run custom fields on insert. Some connections do not run custom fields by default.
Skip the indicated column. (Insert the numerical value of the column. Ignoring the 3rd column would need a 3 placed in the Value box. You can add multiple by separating with a comma.)
Skip the indicated number of rows at the top of the file.
Truncate destination table before inserting new records.
Worksheet to Import
Choose which worksheet of the document will be inserted.
Merge Compressed File Into Folder
If a zip file then will make a table from each file.
