What types of Triggers are there?

Add New Column(s)

Automatically add new columns to the table if they appear in the file (renamed columns will be treated as new).

Adjust Column(s)

Automatically Adjust Datatypes and Lengths if needed. This option  forces the tool to read the full file to determine datatypes/lengths without padding.

Auto Adjust

This is a combination of Add New Column(s) and Adjust Column(s).

Auto Commit

Do not use a transaction for insert. Can speed up large imports.

Default Value

Set a default value for a field if it is blank.

Encoding

Used to specify the character encoding of the file. Assumed to be UTF8 by default.

Supported Encoding Types:

  • UTF16
  • UTF16LE
  • UTF16BE
  • ISO8859
  • WINDOWS1251
  • WINDOWS1252

Force NULL

Force empty values to be NULLs in the Database, default is an empty string.

Force Text

Force fields to text fields.

Format Column as Date

Force selected column to be formatted as a date.

Include Empty Record(s)

Include empty records in import. By default, if there are empty in all fields, they are ignored.

Insert Only New Records Based On

Insert new records based off of the selected column(s).

Minimum Text Field Length

Force all text fields to the designated length.

Merge New Records Based On

Merge new records based off of the selected column(s).

No Padding (Number)

Do not add padding to newly created number fields. Force read of full file to determine datatypes/lengths without padding. Padding added is 2 digits to the left of the Decimal. If it has digits to the right and it's not a Currency pad 1 digit to the right. If it is a Currency but has more than 2 digits to the right pad 1 digit to the right. Otherwise no padding to the right

No Padding (Text)

Do not add padding to newly created text fields. Force read of full file to determine datatypes/lengths without padding.  Padding added by default is the Length + 25% rounded up to a full character.

No Padding (All)

A combination of No Padding (Number) and No Padding (Text)

Pre Data Process

Run indicated Data Process before File import starts. (Only one allowed)

Post Data Process

Run indicated Data Process after File import starts. (Only one allowed)

Run Custom Field(s)

Force run custom fields on insert. Some connections do not run custom fields by default.

Skip Column(s)

Skip the indicated column. (Insert the numerical value of the column. Ignoring the 3rd column would need a 3 placed in the Value box. You can add multiple by separating with a comma.)

Skip Row(s)

Skip the indicated number of rows at the top of the file.

Truncate Table

Truncate destination table before inserting new records.

Worksheet to Import

Choose which worksheet of the document will be inserted.

Merge Compressed File Into Folder

If a zip file then will make a table from each file.
