Naming Auto Import Files and Using Triggers
The triggers can be used with any import made into the system (the exception being Copy & Paste imports). When importing with triggers in the file name the file name triggers will overrule any options selected from the UI.
UserGUID_TableGUID_File Name_Triggers.file extension
The above file has the User GUID of 552bd6fbeab33, the Table GUID of 559a89b4e0def, the file name of SmallGear, the trigger to skip 3 lines before import, and is a text file.
User and Table GUIDs can be found in the Info block of the respected User and Table.
File detection defaults based on file extension.
There are times that our algorithms are unable to determine a file's type by its contents. In this situation the software looks to the file extension to determine the default file type. The default associations are as follows:
- 'csv': Comma delimited values.
- 'tsv': Tab delimited values.
- 'txt': Tab delimited values.
- 'tab': Tab delimited values.
- 'psv': Pipe delimited values.
- 'pipe': Pipe delimited values.
- 'xls': Excel 2003 Workbook.
- 'xlsx': Excel 2007 Workbook.
